15th Annual Picnic Held at Hampton Township Park
Augusta, NJ (October 12, 2010) – On a beautiful fall day, SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc., celebrated its clients and their families by hosting a picnic at the Hampton Township Park in New Jersey on Sunday, October 10th, 2010.
More than 75 of their clients, family members, staff, friends and the SCARC Guardianship Services Board of trustees came out to enjoy each other’s company, play games, share stories and enjoy lunch catered by Villa Capri Pizza in Newton, New Jersey.
“This picnic is important as it represents the personal relationships we have with our clients and their family; there is a bond among everyone here today,” said Linda McConville, Chief Executive Officer of SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. “We have a lot of great things happening at our organization and none of it would be possible without the support of the community, our clients, and the staff of SCARC Guardianship Services; we are grateful for our successes over the last 21 years.”
This year marks the 15th year that SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. has hosted its Annual Appreciation Picnic. The group has enjoyed a variety of the Sussex County picnic settings over the years – from Highpoint State Park, Stokes State Park, and Sparta Park to the Lafayette Pond, Frankford Park and this year the facilities at the Hampton Township Municipal Park. All that attended took pleasure in the beautiful fall day with activities, their growing “family of friends” and the catering, for the very first time.
“SCARC Guardianship Services is a godsend to our family,” said Doug Aimone, whose brother Michael is a part of the Guardianship program. “We give them an A+ for all their personalized care and the fact that they go above and beyond their call of duty.”
SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. is a private, nonprofit corporation that was founded as an independent member of the SCARC family of services in 1989 in response to requests from parents for guardianship services for people with developmental disabilities in Sussex County. Over the last 21 years, the organization has responded to the community and its needs by becoming recognized as a Community Trust agency, which allowed SCARC Guardianship Services to expand its services to include trust services as well. They also expanded their borders. The agency serves clients in counties that are contiguous to Sussex County. Additionally they offer a pro se program, which assists families in six Northern New Jersey counties with the process of becoming the guardian of their adult child with developmental disabilities.
